I appreciate you taking time out to give me your thoughts and comments.

Agreed. The matrix within a matrix is definitely confusing. Came with the territory. Some like it, some don't. (Not sure what you mean by it doesn't even remotely work.)

If you buy into my plot line, then the Anime stories happen within the Supermatrix world and are, therefore, as much a construct as anything else in the Supermatrix. They are simply a fabricated history for the humans and machines that reinforces the concept that the machines overthrew and enslaved humans. Again, this all depends on whether you buy into my plot line. If not, then I guess your opinion would be right, the idea is "crushed to the floor".

I understand your joy in seeing humanity's struggle to outsmart and overcome machines. I have the same feeling. But what I also loved about the stories was the unexpected places it would take me and the surprise that it unleashed. I tried very hard to bring that element to my script and I'm sorry it didn't come across that way for you.

I also feel that there is a lot of emotion still present- in the rise and fall of the Merovingian and Persephone in their efforts to construct and save the Cortex/Supermatrix, of Neo to find his place in existence, of Trinity to help Neo remain alive and bring him into the real world, of The Architect to find a balance between control and letting go, and of the machines to take back control of their own kind. Perhaps not as intense as the Trilogy series, but I think it isn't totally lacking in emotion, either.

Agreed. The action is not as high as it should be to fit with the Trilogy. Definitely a shortcoming.

Agreed. The end is a massive cliffhanger. That's probably my biggest regret. Might have to fix that someday.

How is the writing is elementary? Simple words? Simple sentences? Simplistic ideas?

The Smith lizard thing is a hit or miss. Definitely a miss for you.

That a lot of the dialogue and scene structure are like the other movies, I'll take as a complement. That was definitely my intention and I'm glad you think I succeeded.

That this "isn't even a script, it's a piece of garbage" really needs more elaboration. It follows script formatting and tells a story. That is definitely a script. That it is a piece of garbage is really up for debate. So far, most have disagreed with you. But I respect your opinion.

And as far as cliches go, the Trilogy basically was built on them (not that there's anything wrong with that). I love them, especially when they're done so richly. That my story has successfully followed that thread of storytelling, I'll also take as a complement.

You are obviously a Matrix fan and it has always been my intention to give Matrix fans something more, something extra, something cool to read. This was my motivation. I'm sorry you didn't get the joy and rush others have experienced. It is definitely a disappointment to me.

That you could find no value at all in it and that you "deem this heretical and ridiculous" is particularly disappointing to me. I feel that the intensity of thought I put into it and the joy and rush I felt while writing it are reduced somewhat when someone (anyone) finds absolutely no redeeming qualities in the script.

It's unfortunate. I think we both lose something.
First off. Philosphical problem. Recreating a story with a matrix in a matrix is just confusing. This doesn't even remotely work. See the anime first also and this entire idea is crushed to the floor. The point is that the machines take over humanity. Humanity struggling is the entire joyride of the trilogy. This takes that human emotion and shreds it. There is little to no action in this story. nothing happens in order and everything is deviseded as nothing but a gaint explanation to something that is self explanatory. The ending is a massive cliffhanger. I am left with the feeling, "ok" "so?" " WTF did I just read" the first few pages were ok the other 97 pages sucked. The writing is elementary. I laughed at the smith lizard thing, the fact that alot the dialogue and scene structure Is exactly the same as all the other movies. This isn't even a script . This is a piece of garbage written with cliches. You actually created matrix cliches. I deem this heretical and ridiculous

Comment on Matrix Resurrected - A New Episode that Expands the Matrix Trilogy - by P.
All your comments and praise are greatly appreciated.

I am in agreement with you that things take a little bit of thought since that's how the matrix series works. I definitely don't just hand it out easily. My script takes time to really digest; but the payoff is pretty big.

I would love to turn it into an actual books series...but unless it is sanctioned in some way by Warner or Wachowski, then anything beyond this fan fiction is pushing the boundaries. Hopefully, they knock some day and the whole thing starts to snowball into something cool.

Really glad that you enjoyed it so much. And please let others know it is here.

Thanks again, PD Wood
As a die-hard matrix fan, albeit a young one, the split storylines and terrific explanation of all perspectives was amazing. Some things took a little bit of thought, but that's how the matrix series works, you really have to think about it to understand it. Personally though, I couldn't see this ever becoming a full-length feature. The only way I'd enjoy this on film would be if the entire thing was adapted to the big screen, but as you well know, hollywood is not a very big fan of doing that. But I would absolutely love if this was converted into a very detailed book series that spanned 2 or 3 hard cover books. A funny thing to mention though, the whole time I was reading this, I had the Matrix Revolutions credits on loop and it had the hymnal/orchestral soundtrack on it and it just made it so much more authentic, to me anyways. But overall amazing job and the end killed me. I knew from the beginning when neo was having that dream that it would be something like that. You had me throwing my arms yelling "Of course!" a lot though, which is not a bad thing. Like parents and families and such. At first I thought the whole "Super Matrix" was a stupid concept but as I continued reading you completely turned that thought around. Don't care if I sound like a broken record, but fantastic job and I pray that you have more in store for us loyal fans. (and I really hope this gets some official recognition! i.e. Wachowski's)

Adam.

Comment on Matrix Resurrected - A New Episode that Expands the Matrix Trilogy - by P. I read to a little over half and i must say it was beautifully planned and written in contrast with the previous movies. I've always wondered what made the Merovingian knew so much. Saying things in Reloaded like "I have survived your predecessors and i will survive you" When Neo beat all his henchmen. Now everything makes sense. I don't know whose idea it was but the story line is smashing awesome i can't beleive the higher ups in the movie industry dont want to the the Matrix continue. This is the best storyline i've ever seen in a movie since the lord of the rings the return of the king and some other amazing movies which are few. i'd give it a 10/10 if was to be rated.

Comment on Matrix Resurrected - A New Episode that Expands the Matrix Trilogy - by P.
Reading it in one sitting is definitely the way to get the most out of the script. Packs more of a wallop and keeps the thread of the story more clear.

I may not have explained it deeply enough in the script, but the idea is that people in the real world who are slated to go into the Matrix/Supermatrix have certain specific memories turned off temporarily while other specific (purposely designed or implanted) memories remain intact. (NEO: So, their memories are erased? ARCHITECT/ALEX: No, not erased. Specific memories are shut down.)

So, for instance, the Oracle knows that her mission is to tell Morpheus to free Trinity to then help unplug Neo (because it is a memory that has not been shut down), but the knowledge that she learned that information in the real world is shutdown. So in the Matrix/Supermatrix world she assumes that any knowledge or visions that she has about the future are simply part of her abilities as an Oracle.

This selectivity of information/knowledge would be true of Trinity also. She may be aware of the real world and the plan to extract Neo while she remains in the real world, but she has no knowledge of this when she enters the Matrix/Supermatrix world because all those memories have been shut down. Her destiny in the Matrix/Supermatrix is determined solely by Morpheus and the Oracle. (And as far as her love for Neo goes, it is a logical outcome of her basic personality which remains consistent in all worlds, i.e. Trinity would naturally come to love Neo simply by learning about him and being around him.)

The part of the script that shows the Oracle telling Persephone and the Merovingian that they are programs is supposed to have happened many years before the events in the first Matrix movie, therefore they would not have known they were programs in the first movie.

Hard to follow all this and maybe needs more clarification. Trying to reduce an already overly abundant amount of exposition.

But I'm glad you found positive aspects throughout some of the inconsistencies and I hope my explanation makes the story more clear/palatable. Let me know if you have any more thoughts.

Thanks for reading and have a good new year.

I'm glad you liked the script, the Supermatrix concept and that you felt it all connected well with the Trilogy. That in itself is praise enough.

I agree with all your other comments: more fanfic than bonefide script, probably too many inception parallels, flashbacks are tricky.

I think the whole "intertwined familial relationships" concept is a hit or miss for most people. Missed with you.

If there is any interest at all from the Hollywood folks, I have no doubt that much would get cut, altered and/or condensed in a rewrite. That is a challenge I would welcome immediately.

I think my script sets the stage for many extension ideas but only a few would probably get developed in a single new movie concept. Let's hope there's enough interest.

Thanks for the constructive criticism and praise. Always welcomed.
I liked the script enough to read it all in one setting. However, here are my comments/concerns:

You say the super matrix and matrix are like a two way mirror and that the characters do not know what they are doing in each reality. Although your script says otherwise. The Oracle knows exactly what she is doing when she crosses through the super matrix and enters the matrix. She warns the Merov. and Perso. about Smith. She also purposefully tells Morph. to unplug Trinity so she can get to Neo.

In your script Trinity also mentions that she wanted to kill NEO but then she fell in love with him and then construed a plan to bring NEO to reality. This happend before she entered the matrix and she knowingly carried out the same plan after she crossed over.

Your script also shows the Oracle telling Merov. and Perso. that they are programs and they are surprised and get mad. From the trilogy they already know they are programs, thats how the Merov. got all of his power and money, from being programs. In Reloaded the Merov. even rights a program himself, in the slice of cake, which is given to the girl he gets a BJ from, which gets Perso. mad.

I understood your ending for matrix 4 and I didn't need any clarification, however I prefer the ending for matrix 3 than your matrix 4 ending.

On the positive side I was still entertained the entire time I read your script, only had some minor issues.

Comment on Matrix Resurrected - A New Episode that Expands the Matrix Trilogy - by P.
